Baby Bump

I think I still look just fat and not prego yet. Oh well.
We went to the Dr. yesterday and he said it is a boy! Tray is pretty excited to have a brother, because he gets to share a room with him.
I'm nervous for another boy. I have my hands full with Tray so I hope his brother has 1/2 the energy he does. Otherwise I'm going to be in trouble.
Everything was looking great. The baby was measuring small this time, well not small but more like my original due date. But my doctor still kept me due November 4th. I guess I'll see what my target ultrasound says in 4 weeks.
And..... I'm still loosing weight. I love the pregnancy diet. This is what happened with Kinlee too. It would be better if I could keep the weight off though.

On the Hunt

We're on the hunt for a new car that will accommodate our growing family. Here is my list so far of ones we've considered.
We cannot agree on a car except for the one that is completely out of our price range. My first choice and the only thing we agree on is this....

the GMC Acadia. Roomy, stylish, great gas mileage, but I don't know if I can bring myself to commit to that kind of payment.

My second choice is this...

the Honda Pilot. But Travis doesn't want a mid-size SUV because of the pain of using the 3rd row and it feeling crammed. Which I agree with kinda. I haven't been inside a Pilot yet, but we did drive a Pathfinder and it would be a pain to crawl over the 2nd row to buckle in kids in the 3rd row. I'm guessing it'll be the same situation with the Pilot, so this option may be off the table soon.

Other than a mini van that leaves us with the option of a full size SUV.
A full size SUV has many advantages, they can tow things, like trailers that we don't own. (We own nothing that needs to be towed, so this advantage doesn't really play a role in my decision making, although like twice a year we have to haul my dad's trailer to Lava but we still have a truck that we can all fit in, so again not really a factor for me.)
I also won't feel like I'm driving a can of sardines around. It would be nice to have a lot of room between the 3rd row and me. More distance for screaming and fighting to travel.
Disadvantages-
I'm full size driving impaired. It took years for me to master driving a car and being able to park it decent. (Just ask people that rode with me in high school. I wasn't very good at parking a car.) Can you imagine me trying to maneuver a big ol' SUV through the Kent's parking lot? The few times that I am forced to drive the truck I have to park at the very end of the parking lot where there are six empty stalls all together so I can have a slim shot of actually making it straight between the lines. I just don't picture good things happening with me driving something that big.
Gas mileage. I'll admit that I don't drive very far anymore, but still I just am not all gung-ho driving something that I'll have to take a loan out just to fill it with gas every week.

So if we are going for a full size SUV my choice is this

The Nissan Armada. Again price plays a big part in this selection. They are spendy but I love the look of them.

This is Travis's one and only choice. A Tahoe. He has never even considered anything else. I told him I have to drive one and see how well I can handle something like that before I even put it on my list of options. The only thing with this is that I love the new style of the Tahoe but we can't afford one and I'm not totally in love with the older style.
I hope I'm not the only one that is this picky over choosing a car. This is something I'm going to be driving for a long amount of time though and I want to be completely in love with it. Good thing we still have a few months before I have to make a decision but I want to have this thing in my possession by September. So on the hunt we go.

Today is a Great Day

Friday was such a wonderful day! Well this whole week has been great. It was my first week not working and it was wonderful being home with my family.

But Friday took the cake. I started the day by going shopping with one of my best friends. We went to the JJ Cole warehouse sale. It was so fun! I've never had such a high from shopping. We wanted to go back just for the experience!

The only bad thing that happened was that I locked myself out of my house. Oops! Good thing Jayme rescued me and my kids and let us hang out at her house until Travis got off work.

The best thing that happened was Travis's job. He put in for a group leader job and we found out that he got the job! I couldn't be more proud of him. He has done so much to provide for our family and it's so great to see his hard work and dedication pay off!

We ended the night by taking the kids to the movies. We went to How to Train Your Dragon again and this time the kids made it all the way through the movie. Well Kinlee struggled but at least we didn't have to leave half way through. But next time we go to the movies I think Kinlee will have to stay home.

How Could I Forget

Obviously this was before we moved in. We do have a stove now. I LOVE my cabinets! They are on my Top 5 list of things I love about my house.

Living Room ($50 art piece from Ross) Oh and the black things hanging from the ceiling are speakers for the stupid surround sound system. It's a guy thing I guess.

Kami's Got Talent

Our ward is having a talent show coming up in the next few months and it got me thinking about what my talents are.
I really feel like I suck it up in the talent area. It's something I've been struggling with for some time. There's things I'm good at but I want to find something that I'm GREAT at. Like something that people call me up and ask me to share with them. Like oh hey, you're really crafty can you make me this. Or you make the best _______ can you bring that to the dinner party. Or you have a beautiful voice can you prepare a musical number?
I'm just really still not sure who I am as a person. I thought about going to school but honestly do not have the time for it. But I wouldn't even know what to go to school for. I'm not loving what I went to school for initially (which I never finished going to school for) but I don't really feel a passion for anything else either.
I really should just focus on developing and sharpening the talents I have now, like being a better mother and wife, but I really want a hobby that is fun and fantastic to do that can keep me in check with my sanity. But for now I'll just enjoy what I do have and maybe someday without really knowing it I'll find what I feel like I'm missing.

Happy Birthday Sweet Babies!

We celebrated the kids' birthdays this weekend. We went to see Planet 51 at the discount theater. The kids loved it. They were funny to watch.

I can't believe my kids are growing up. I took them to the dr. at the first of the month and they are both growing great. Tray is still in the 97% for his weight and height and Kinlee is just average and perfect in the 75%.

Tray-

50 lbs (greater than 97th percentile)

43 in (96th percentile)

Kinlee-

29 lbs (79th percentile)

33 1/2 in (51th percentile)

Both kids are so cute right now. I can't believe how grown up Tray seems to me sometimes. I love that he has been going to school because I think it's helped him grow up so much more. You can actually understand things he says and he is getting so smart.

Kinlee loves to be Tray's shadow. Anything he does, she needs to do too. She loves to sing ABCs with him and she knows 3 colors, blue, green, and pink. She calls the color yellow "nanna" but at least she can recognize it's the same color.

We have been practicing letters and numbers at home with Tray with flashcards and Kinlee loves to hold them up to Tray and then say "Good Job" no matter what he answers.

I love both my kiddies so much. They bring so much joy to my life and the small moments of insanity seem meaningless to how much fun they are and how fast their childhood will go by.

Happy Birthday you two!!!

I've Switched Teams

One of the biggest things that has happened to me is around November I switched teams. I'm no longer a faithful person. At first I felt guilty like this new love affair was something so so wrong, but after a while and going back to what I thought I loved, I knew my new love was meant to be.... I've left my beloved Pepsi for Dr. Pepper!!!!!

I have been a Pepsi drinker probably since I started working at North Valley Catering in 1998 or even before then. But when I started working there I could get fountain drinks for free.

This switch has been a huge change for me. I felt a little lost without my tried and true Mr. Blue in the fridge, but after a few months of not tasting him I tried a little tonight and he didn't do it for me still.

I've been trying really hard to not drink as much soda as I had been (almost a 12 pack within 3 days) and I have done pretty good. I limit myself to 1 Dr. P a day. Let's hope that I won't over indulge in my new love and he can last as long as Mr. Blue.

Here's to the next few year Dr.

Out of Pocket

I knew that having a baby would max out our insurance deductible and the kids have needed their tonsils out for a while so this was the year...
